US Bank branch in Roosevelt vandalized

Crews repair windows at the US Bank in Roosevelt, which was vandalized on November 26, 2011.

Vandals broke windows and tagged the Roosevelt US Bank branch with spray paint early this morning. It appears likely that the damage is in retaliation for October 25 police action against “Occupy Oakland” protesters. The repair costs are estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dollars.

The “Jobs, Not Cuts” rally originally scheduled to block traffic at the Montlake Bridge around 4 p.m., will still meet at that location, but will march toward the University District Bridge as its final destination.
