A group of students at Green Lake Elementary had a special surprise last Friday when their teachers broke out into dance in the middle of an assembly.

Accident on I-5 at Ravenna Blvd. closes all southbound lanes of traffic

WSDOT cameras show the on-ramp from Ravenna Blvd. onto I-5 Southbound. The traffic jam extends north.

An accident involving a semi truck and a smaller vehicle closed all lanes of traffic on southbound I-5 near the Ravenna overpass for about 40 minutes this afternoon. According to reports, 4 people have been taken to the hospital.

No one was injured in an early morning fire on February 10 at Cafe DaPino in Ravenna. Damage is estimated at $20,000.

Funeral to be held this Saturday for RHS graduate killed in Afghanistan

A public funeral service will be held this Saturday, Feb. 11, to honor U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. William Stacey, a 2006 Roosevelt High School graduate who was killed Jan. 31 while serving in Afghanistan.

Today, the Seattle City Council voted on the Roosevelt Residential Urban Village rezone. The vote was 7-2 in favor of the plan, which will allow for building heights of up to 65 feet in front of RHS. Counilmembers Bruce Harrell and Jean Godden were the dissenting votes.

Dog attack prompts lockdown at Eckstein Middle School (UPDATES)

A bus driver was attacked by two dogs this morning while walking the track at Eckstein Middle School. The school was temporarily placed on lockdown while police officers caught the dogs.
