Townhouses on NE 66th Street will soon move to new location

Sound Transit finally found a buyer for the four townhouse buildings on NE 66th Street (originally listed in February 2011). Since the buildings are on the site of the future Roosevelt Light Rail Station, they can’t stay where they are. The buyer has plans to move them just up the street to NE 63rd And 15th Avenue NE.

The Seattle Department of Planning and Development (DPD) approved the relocation of the townhomes on July 5, though you can still appeal to the Hearing Examiner through July 27.

To prep for the move, construction crews demolished the small building facing NE 12th Street (the former home of Shears Hair Salon) this past Wednesday. The townhouses will be transported through the former salon property in two separate moves: The first will happen on August 3 and 4 and the second move on the following weekend, August 10 and 11.
