With the purchase by Sound Transit of, among other Roosevelt properties, the QFC parcel (6600 Roosevelt Way NE) and the building that Capitol Music Center (CMC) is housed in (1032 NE 65th St), it was only a matter of time before it was time to bid these businesses adieu.
QFC will close sometime in 2012. (No word on whether or not the grocery store will return to the neighborhood after the Roosevelt Station is built.)
CMC closed…yesterday! But only to move to their new location a little further south in the University District (in the old Minuteman Press location at 1006 NE 50th St; next to Fire Station 17).

Capitol Music Center plans to reopen this Wednesday, August 10. And they are as excited about the extra parking spots at the new location as you are.
