Seattle Public Library 2011 Summer Reading Program

Looking for a good read this summer? The Seattle Public Library offers more than 700 free programs all over the city for children, teens, and adults between June and August.

This year’s theme for teens is “Steampunk Summer” featuring Boneshaker by Cherie Priest and Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. Copies were handed out to various middle and high schools in Seattle, and at library branches throughout the city.

To encourage kids to read and share the books with others, SPL hid a few copies in secret locations around the city and provided clues as to how to find them. After you’ve read your copy, you can hide it at a local library or any other public place and post the clue on the SPL website.

A clue was posted this morning about a copy of Leviathan hidden at the Northeast branch (6801 35th Ave NE):

Leviathan is hiding in the teen area at the Northeast Branch, find it now between a table and a place to rest.
