Jalisco closes its doors for good

A 'For Rent' sign hangs in the window of Jalisco Mexican Restaurant in Roosevelt, Seattle. Another neighborhood business has closed its doors for good.

Over the weekend, ‘For Rent’ signs went up in the windows at Jalisco Mexican Restaurant and Taqueria, replacing the signs claiming they were closed for kitchen remodeling.

Soon after they closed in February for remodeling, a sign went up from the Washington State Department of Revenue, claiming they owed nearly $80,000 in unpaid taxes.

If you’re a fan of Jalisco’s food, you aren’t totally out of luck. The same family who owned Jalisco also owns Casa Patron, just down the street at NE 65th and 8th NE.
