We’ve rounded up the latest news on three different businesses taking on major remodeling projects this spring:
Jalisco’s Roosevelt location went dark last week for a kitchen remodel. No indication of how long the remodel will take, but in the meantime, hungry fans of their food can try Casa Patron, just down the street. (It’s owned by the same family.)
Earlier this week, we heard rumor of Safeway’s remodel project. Roosevelt neighbor Allan Waite had a conversation with Safeway Public Affairs yesterday and got the inside scoop on their remodel project:
New Starbucks at NW entrance near deli. No word on the addition of more seating. Construction slated to begin around March 1. Also, several cash registers will be eliminated, into their place will go several U-Scan type self-checkout machines. Sources said the video rental area will stay.
The work will be completed in April of this year.
Bartell Drugs (Roosevelt Square)
Howie Cohen, General Merchandise Buyer for Bartell Drugs (and all-around great guy), gave us a teaser of what to expect from their upcoming remodel project:
We will be remodeling our Roosevelt store beginning this Spring. We’re taking a fresh look at how customers are shopping the store and will be trying to create some excitement in key categories, and experimenting with some new fixtures and signage.
