Community Meeting on July 21 to Address Proposed 16-Story Building

The Roosevelt Development Group (RDG) has proposed 16-story building just south of Roosevelt High School on the corner of 65th and 15th NE. This could have a huge impact on the high school.

Before they can build this, they will need to conduct an Environmental Impact Study (EIS), which is goverend by the City Department of Planning and Development (DPD). Prior to the EIS, the DPD holds a public meeting to help determine the scope of the EIS.

This meeting will take place this Wednesday, July 21, at 6:30pm in the gym of the Calvary Church.

According to Roosevelt neighbor Walter Wagner: “You may remember a similar meeting about a year ago. That meeting was considered invalid partly because DPD did not record the meeting correctly, and partly because RDG did not publish any actual plans which could be studied in the EIS. There was good community turn out at that meeting. Now RDG are back and hope to set up a new EIS. The timing of the meeting suggests that they are hoping for less community turn out. Please come to the meeting and let the DPD know of your concerns and thoughts about this re-development.”

Please share this with your neighbors and attend if you can!
